Meet Us

Owners, Sara and Tim Bell

Sara started Green River Adventures in 2006.  It looked like so much fun, her husband Tim joined the crew last year. He quickly climbed the ranks from Maintenance Man to Operations Manager.  You can find either one of them on the water, driving your trip, taking your reservation, or waiving to you from their front porch on the banks for the Green River.  They have two awesome kids, Finn and Hurley.

Meet Our Whitewater Kayak Instructors, River Guides, and Staff

Our instructors come to us with a wealth of experience teaching whitewater kayaking and river guiding. They love what they do, professionally and personally. We are finding that Green River guides and instructors are raising the bar in the outdoor experience industry. They are what keep our clients coming back year after year!

Our guides are all professionals in the Outdoor Leadership Industry.  They are talented, experienced kayakers, and pumped about showing you how much fun a whitewater trip can be!

Casey is a full time Saluda resident and a graduate of Brevard College. He recently returned to Saluda after a year of traveling. Casey has ten years of kayaking experience having first learned to kayak on the French Broad River. He spends his free time biking, rock climbing and working on a mountain bike trail system on his Saluda property. This is Casey’s second year with Green River Adventures.

Matt WittMatt Witt

Matt first learned how to canoe back in 1995 on the Hiwassee River with his dad and family doctor. As soon as he was able began working at the nearest rafting company Hiwassee Outfitters taking folks down the river and the occasional jaunts to the Ocoee River for whitewater surf sessions. Moved to North Carolina in 2008 to play in the mountains and teach history at Rosman High School. From here he discovered the amazing world of steep creeking and has been hooked ever since. After nearly two decades on the water Matt still gets the same joy taking folks out on the water.

Michael ErvinMichael Ervin

Michael is studying history at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. He is passionate about the outdoors and is an avid whitewater paddler. Michael spent last year guiding in Alaska on the Nenana River. We’ve heard great things and are looking forward to adding Michael to the GRA team.
