What do I need to wear?
The water on the Green River is warm. If the weather is warm, a bathing suit and shoes that will stay on your feet while swimming are recommended. During early spring and late fall, we recommend layering with synthetics such as fleece or polypropylene. Anything you forgot or need for the trip can be purchased in our store.
Swiftwater Rescue
The 2-day Swiftwater Rescue class teaches recognition and avoidance of common river hazards, self rescue techniques, and rescue techniques for paddlers in distress. We place an emphasis on simple, commonly used skills. We will cover techniques for dealing with strainers, rescue vests, entrapments, and pins. A large portion of the course will consist of scenarios created to provide an opportunity for participants to practice skills individually and within a team/group context.
This course is sponsored by the American Canoe Association. Participants may leave the clinic with a certificate of completion from the ACA in Swiftwater Rescue: Level 4. For a complete course outline Click Here.
