Roll Clinics
This Clinic is open to 8 people the first Friday of every month, May-September. We meet at “Fish Top Falls”, put-in for the Lower Green and take-out for the Narrows, at 4:45pm, gear up and start rolling. Taking turns one on one with the instructors, you can start to learn to roll or fix what ails your roll. Our roll clinics take place in the river so you can work in a quiet-water pool or in the current. Due to the specific nature of this clinic, it is open to anyone who has taken “Introduction to Kayaking” with us or has had instruction elsewhere. This is not an appropriate clinic for someone brand new to paddling who has never been in a kayak, nor is it a substitute for beginning kayak instruction.
We teach a number of different roll techniques; the sweep roll, the “C to C” roll, back deck roll, hands roll …generally, we will pick one technique that seems to be the easiest for your flexibility and body shape and start there. It is important to have one roll that works for you and practice it a lot! Then start to add to your repertoire of skills.
When: First Friday of every month, 5-8pm May – September
Where: Lower Green River, “Fish Top Falls”
Cost: $50 per person
