On your trip:

Best River Safety Practices: You can’t have fun if you’re not safe!

  1. Wear your lifejacket.
  2. Don’t attach yourself or your kayak to anything with rope, string, or anything loose that could result in potential entanglement.
  3. Paddle sober. There’s always time to enjoy adult beverages after the river. Plus, alcohol is prohibited by state law on the Green River.
  4. Protect your feet. There are knowns (sharp rocks) and unknowns (glass, fish hooks, debris from Helene) in rivers and public parking lots. We recommend wearing secure footwear for the duration of your experience.

“Don’t bring anything you aren’t willing to donate to the river.” – GRA Proverb

  • Water, Drinks, and Snacks – We recommend being hydrated and fed. All items should be secured to your boat with clips or cord. We sell waterproof bags (drybags) at our outposts. *Alcohol is prohibited by law on the Green River.*
  • Phone, cameras, and valuables – Use common sense when deciding what to take and make sure that valuables that can’t get wet are secured in dry storage.
  • Prescription and fast-acting medication – We recommend taking any medications you may need such as EPI pens and inhalers.
After your trip:
  • Changing rooms and outdoor showers are available at our outpost.
  • Hang out and enjoy a beverage on our riverside porch! And don’t forget to check out the adorable town of Saluda for dining and shopping… See you again, soon!
