Trip Details

Begin your inflatable kayak trip just 8 minutes from downtown Saluda and paddle deep into the untouched wilderness of the Green River Game Lands. Your two guides point you in the right direction as you paddle through II-IV rapids in your own inflatable kayak. Enjoy the wilderness, wildlife, wildflowers, wild rapids, and your wild guides. Participants finish this trip with big thrills, big stories, and a sense of accomplishment.

(A light snack and water are provided on the trip.)

Recommended for: Active, adventurous individuals looking for a rewarding challenge; Scouts; School/Youth groups.

Distance/Duration: 4-mile section, 4-hour total trip time.

Schedule: The Upper Green is scheduled in the morning at 8am and 8:30am due to Northbrook Energy’s Scheduled Flow Releases. Check here for available times and dates.

Recommended footwear: Footwear that can get wet and won’t come off in the river is required (Sandals with a heel strap, water shoes, booties, old-sneakers, etc). We rent river shoes at our outpost ($7/pair).

***Reservations are required.

Heads Up!

The Upper Green River is a pristine, wilderness stretch of river surrounded by protected forests – that means no crowds and beautiful scenery. As with most remote places, it requires some extra effort to access. At the end of your trip there is a 0.7 mile hike. We ask that participants carry their own gear (approximately 25 lbs.) and staff is there to assist. This is our most popular trip and well worth the effort! We recommend informing all members of your group about the hike out.

DISCLAIMER: This is a high-adventure, wilderness experience that requires active participation for 2.5 hours. This trip is not recommended for some older adults, or participants with health conditions that may require immediate attention.
